The Problem

Solafide Accounting was born out of a clear and pressing need: the gap between generic global accounting tools and the realities of doing business under the OHADA legal framework in Francophone Africa.

While software like SAGE, QuickBooks, and Excel have become household names, they were not built for OHADA-based economies. They lack the proper OHADA chart of accounts, do not generate statutory reports in required formats, and often require users to rely on Excel workarounds — a setup that leads to errors, delays, duplication of work, and constant back-and-forth with regulators.

Our co-founders, Tingom Ferdinand and Mme Charlotte, experienced this firsthand. As professionals in accounting and finance, they spent years implementing systems and helping businesses "make things work." But they saw a pattern: local businesses, no matter how well-meaning, were under-equipped with tools not designed for them. Something had to change.
